Visa: Since Connecting Schools to the World is a work exchange program, only a tourist visa is required.
This visa is acquired at the airport upon arrival and costs 120 dollars. It must be renewed after 3 months with no cost..
Most participants cross over to Uruguay for a weekend on a ferry and thus get immediate renewal.
Health insurance: Good and affordable Health insurance is mandatory. We recommend an excellent and very affordable Argentine
insurance which gives almost complete coverage.
Starting and ending dates: We require a one semester commitment. First semester starts on Feb 15th
and ends on July 9th. Second semester starts July 9th and ends on December 15th. Dates may be subject to
small changes.
Room and board: We don’t provide room and board during training but do recommend a very good, well
priced hostel www.hostelpalermosuites.com.ar. After two weeks of training and one in placement, room
and board is provided in an Argentine home whose family wishes to experience having a foreigner in their home.
Placements: Placements are varied and spread out throughout Argentina. Click to see map
of past locations. Decision on where each participant is placed is made after one week of training based
on shown capacities of each participant.
What to bring: Casual and neat clothes. It is cold, with sometimes below zero weather in Winter and hot in
summer months.
Training: Two weeks of very intensive training in Buenos Aires focused on analysis of cultural differences,
classroom management, basic grammar, and methods on motivating students.
Spanish: Knowledge of Spanish is not required. Program provides complete immersion and private classes.
Types of schools: We send teachers to public and private schools, English Language schools, High Schools
and Primary Schools.
Work schedule: Teachers teach up to 25 hours a week. |
